Zambia’s second largest mobile operator MTN has partnered with Tech Mahindra to set up a new customer support unit in order to enhance the operator’s customer care services.

The initiative will see Tech Mahindra set up a customer support unit dedicated to MTN Zambia customers and is expected to help MTN Zambia meet its business aspirations.

Tech Mahindra focuses on Business Process as a Service and BPO services across various industries including telecommunications.

MTN Zambia chief executive officer Abdul Ismail said the new customer support desk at Tech Mahindra will help MTN Zambia become more competitive while giving customers the best value of their money.

Despite the new customer support unit at Tech Mahindra, Ismail said in a statement that MTN would maintain its in-house call centre at its head office in the capital, Lusaka.

Ismail said the call centre services to be provided by Tech Mahindra were aimed at further enhancing MTN Zambia’s provision of world-class customer care.

“I’m confident the centre provided by Tech Mahindra will help MTN Zambia meet its business aspirations,” Ismail said.

MTN Zambia is the country’s second largest mobile operator after Airtel with about 4 million customers.
