Zambia’s second largest mobile operator MTN has partnered with Stanbic bank to provide communication solutions to the bank.

The operator said it will help bring solutions that will help reduce the cost of doing business to the bank’s customers in Zambia. The partnership is expected to help Stanbic Bank remain competitive in the Zambian financial service market.

MTN Zambia chief executive officer Abdul Ismail said his company will provide automated teller machines (ATM) and internet at the bank’s head office in Lusaka.

Ismail added that MTN will further provide inter-connectivity for the entire bank network in all the branches across the country.

The operator has invested heavily in infrastructure technology in Zambia and other countries where it has operations to ensure that MTN clients get value for their money, Ismail noted.

“MTN Zambia will draw synergies with other MTN group operations across Africa to provide affordable, reliable and efficient solution in Zambia,” Ismail said.

Last year Ismail said MTN Zambia integrated MTN business to make the company a leading technology solution provider in the country.

MTN is Zambia’s second largest mobile phone operator after Airtel Zambia with just above four million customers.
