Orange Egypt and Huawei are working to bring 5G technology to both customers and businesses, serving as a catalyst for new technologies such as artificial intelligence, robots, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

According to the companies, the move is intended to improve user experiences, create new revenue models, and build smart ecosystems in areas such as smart cities, the internet of things, and beyond.

Under this agreement, the companies will also use Huawei's E-band microwave technology, which has a frequency range of 71-76 GHz to 81-86 GHz and enables ultra-high throughput and low-latency wireless backhaul solutions that are ideal for high-demand urban areas and rural areas where fibre optic cables may be difficult to install.

In a statement, they added that the E-band microwave technology assures that Orange Egypt can provide a consistent and high-speed 5G experience across the country, connecting more people and businesses to the digital economy.

Huawei has given network solutions, including its Massive Multiple Input Multiple Output technology for Radio Access Networks, to provide optimal service quality, higher network performance, and spectral efficiency as part of an existing relationship.

The solution improves the performance of the 5G network by providing ultra-fast data speeds and connectivity even in high-density environments, allowing Orange Egypt to optimise spectrum utili-sation, provide more bandwidth to consumers, and improve service quality for demanding appli-cations like 4K/8K video streaming, AR, and VR.

“We are committed to collaborate with Orange Egypt in their 5G journey and bringing to life the future of connectivity. With our advanced 5G solutions, we are enabling the next generation of mobile networks to deliver faster, more reliable and energy-efficient services. This partnership underscores Huawei’s dedication to helping operators meet the growing demand for high-speed, sustainable connectivity,” said Mohamed Youssef, key account executive at Huawei Egypt.
