Standard Bank Zambia launches new payment plan for Dstv subscriptions

Standard Chartered Bank is rolling out payment of Multi-Choice Zambia subscriptions on its mobile banking system for its customers.

The two companies have signed the payment deal that would see customers pay their subscription using mobile phones and provide convenience to customers in their financial activities.

Sonny Zulu, head of consumer banking at Standard Chartered Bank said the partnership with Multi-Choice Zambia would enhance the DStv experience of the bank’s customers as they continue to enjoy various world-class subscription options.

“The bank would continue adding more service providers to our mobile banking platform in consultation with our customers because we see this service as part of our drive to provide a customer focused service,” Zulu said.

Zulu said the bank’s motivation was to enhance the service experience of customers through the provision of innovative products and services that promote convenience in the financial activities of their customers.

The payment system would also allow customers with international roaming enabled on their mobile phones to complete their transactions from wherever they are in the world.

Simon Bota, general manager, Multi-Choice Zambia said Multi-Choice was excited that its desire of creating more payment platforms for subscribers was being fulfilled. He said the service would be available 24 hours daily.

“As a company, we want customers to enjoy so much more of our products and it all starts with how convenient it is to pay for DStv service,” Bota said.

Last week, Multi-Choice Zambia partnered with mobile operator MTN to enable customers to pay their DStv subscription using their mobile phones.

According to Cliff Sichone, Multi-Choice Zambia sales and marketing manager, their offices have been congested with queues of customers paying their subscription because of limited outlets, but the mobile banking transactions would ease the queues and prove to be convenient.
