The Egyptian Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Konecta, a telecom consultancy firm, have inked a $100 million Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Konecta Group's regional headquarters in New Cairo.

According to a statement, the company plans to invest approximately $100 million over three years and hire nearly 3,000 specialists to provide advanced digital and technical services such as artificial intelligence solutions, digital transformation, cybersecurity, big data and analytics, IoT, technical support, and multilingual customer service in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, reaching markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

Konecta said it will open its first throughout the Global Centre of Excellence for Gen-AI in Egypt to support its worldwide delivery operations and leverage knowledge and skills acquired from the group.

According to Amr Talaat, minister of communications and information technology, the country's interest in investments strengthens its competitiveness in the ICT sector.

He said: “The growth of the offshoring industry and the rising interest from global companies in establishing service centers in Egypt to deliver advanced digital services highlight the country’s competitiveness in this thriving sector. Egypt offers high-quality digital services in multiple languages, backed by a skilled talent pool.

“This strategic partnership with ITIDA emphasises our commitment to innovation and collaboration for growth across the Middle East and Africa. By establishing our regional headquarters in Egypt, we aim to harness the country’s exceptional talent pool to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions and foster a highly skilled workforce that will shape the future of customer experience globally,” added Nourdine Bihmane, Group CEO of Konecta.
