MTN Cameroon has officially launched Chenosis, a pan-African platform with a cross-industry API (Application Programming Interface) marketplace that allows developers, entrepreneurs, and enterprises to integrate into an expanding library of open APIs.

Chenosis gives access to a diverse range of API goods and services in telecoms, health, government, finance, entertainment, and other industries.

MTN launched the platform, which it hopes will become Africa's largest library of open APIs, to Cameroon's digital ecosystem stakeholders this week in the capital, Yaounde.

According to the telecom company, Chenosis will provide a variety of technology options, allowing enterprises to create new applications with little or no code.

Yolanda Kope Mbalu, Chenosis' Go-to-market general manager, said: “Making life simpler for industries, developers, and SMEs through our marketplace is our mission.”

MTN Cameroon's CEO Mitwa Ng'ambi noted that the launch of Chenosis is part of the company’s commitment to offer digital and inclusive solutions for the progress of Cameroon.

“We are convinced that digital innovation is an essential driver of the country's economic growth and sustainable development,” Ng'ambi said.

She called on businesses to take advantage of what Chenosis offers to accelerate their digital transformation and improve productivity.

“I invite all developers, small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, multinationals as well as government and international agencies to adopt Chenosis and exploit its potential to create innovative, simple and accessible solutions that will make life easier for their users, customers and employees,” Ng’ambi added.
