
Finnish mobile maker Nokia has unveiled its next range of Asha mobile devices, the Nokia Asha 210, which come equipped with their own social network dedicated buttons.
The phone which runs on the Series 40 mobile operating system comes equipped with a QWERTY keyboard.
And according to Nokia’s Niel Broadley, the phone has a dedicated WhatsApp button on the front of the device, which provides fast, direct and easy access to the instant messaging application.
He added that WhatsApp has guaranteed that all Nokia Asha 210 phones will have subscription free access to the application for the lifetime of the device.
Meanwhile, technology website thenextweb.com says a Facebook button is planned to be available on Nokia Asha 210 phones sold in Europe and Latin America, while a WhatsApp button is expected be fitted on devices sold in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
One of the phone’s features is a camera key on the front of the device that allows the owner to start up the camera when the phone is locked.
It also boasts features such as single and dual-SIM options, while it runs on GSM and Edge networks.
Its battery life can last up to 46 days of standby time for the single SIM device, and 24 days for the dual SIM version.
The phone is expected to be available in five different colours and it will be priced at $72 excluding taxes and subsidies.
It is expected to be available for purchase towards the end of the second quarter, said Broadley.
