Bolt is expanding into Zimbabwe, its third country in Southern Africa, following a successful pilot in Zambia and operations in South Africa.

The mobility market is predicted to double by 2030, resulting in an additional 550,000 income-generating opportunities.

Bolt, which is commemorating a decade in Kenya, claims to have more than tenfold increased its ride-hailing travels since its first year on the market.

The company operates in over 500 cities in more than 45 countries in Europe, Africa, Western Asia and Latin America.

The e-hailing platform is punting its pricing model and safety features as unique selling points in a highly competitive market.

The new funds will be used to expand and further improve Bolt's full suite of mobility and delivery products.

The International Finance Corporation investment will support entrepreneurship, empower women and increase access to affordable mobility in the regions.

Company plans to introduce new services, including delivery services to its largest markets.

Swvl, LittleCab and Bolt have initiated various services to keep industry working and support ongoing efforts to tackle Coronavirus.

Kenya-based M-Kopa will be the first beneficiary of the fund.
