Huawei launches digital literacy skills initiative in Kenya

Illegal e-commerce operators in East Africa's largest economy face fines and imprisonment, the regulator cautioned.

The project focuses on locations that are currently unserved or underserved, with mobile signals reaching fewer than half of the population.

This is part of the Digital Explorers initiative, a project that encourages talent exchange in ICT between the Baltic republics of Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia and the African nations.

The initiative is expected to reduce Kenya's reliance on food imports by around $200 million per year, lowering the country's trade deficit.

The summit reaffirmed a shared commitment to utilising the US-Kenya partnership to promote a constructive vision of a secure and stable cyberspace.
