The deal will strengthen Zid’s presence in one of the most promising e-commerce markets in the Middle East and Africa.

Zid, an e-commerce infrastructure platform, has acquired Zammit, an Egypt-based software-as-a-service firm, as part of its expansion strategy into the country and wider African markets.

Under the arrangement, which took effect on November 6, Zammit will utilise the Saudi firm's technologies and digital infrastructure to enhance its operations in the North African country.

In the near future, Zid plans to expand its services to additional markets across the continent.

According to the terms of the agreement, Zammit will handle Zid's operational activities in Egypt, which include local sales, merchant onboarding, customer support, and the implementation of regional expansion goals.

The two brands will maintain a shared identity during this phase to ensure continuity and a unified customer experience.

Commenting on the move, Mazen Al-Darrab, CEO of Zid said: “The acquisition reflects Zid’s confidence in Egypt’s thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem and its commitment to building from within.”
