PayTabs Egypt and Valu, a financial technology business, have partnered to launch a merchant App that enables payments to be accepted via smartphones without the use of traditional point of sale (POS) hardware.

According to the companies, the Valu merchant App was developed and optimised for Egypt's dynamic retail landscape.

Valu noted that the partnership is a step towards financial inclusion that will reshape how merchants and customers interact.

The App eliminates entry barriers, reduces expenses, and expands the acceptance of digital payments in the North African country by leveraging PayTabs' quick response-powered technology.

Valu said that the initiative aims to create a better retail ecosystem in which convenience, security, and innovation coexist.

The firms went on to say the solution replaces POS physical handhelds with a smarter, flexible, and cost-efficient alternative.

It supports instant payment confirmations, real-time reporting, on-boarding, and a contactless experience.

Haytham Morsy, vice president, commercial and business development at PayTabs Egypt, commented: “Together with Valu, we’re putting powerful payment orchestration and mobile commerce tools in the hands of local merchants, many of whom have never had access to this kind of technology before.

“With just a smartphone, they can now accept payments quickly and securely, giving their customers a smoother checkout experience and opening new doors for growth. It’s about empowering shop owners, supporting communities, and making sure everyone, no matter their size or location, can be part of Egypt’s digital future.”
