NVIDIA's bold bet on Cassava Tech to fuel innovation

Cassava Technologies, a global technology company, has secured an undisclosed investment from US-based NVIDIA to further expand its digital infrastructure.

The company operates in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America with a diverse portfolio of business divisions that include Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Africa Data Centres, Liquid C2, Cassava.ai, and Sasai Fintech.

The investment follows Cassava Technologies' recent announcement that it plans to establish Artificial Intelligence (AI) factories on the continent, secure data centres equipped with NVIDIA AI computing technology.

Cassava said at the time that it wants to deploy NVIDIA accelerated computing and AI software using NVIDIA Cloud Partner reference architectures at its data centres in South Africa, with expansion planned for its other data centres in Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria. Africa.

Yesterday, Hardy Pemhiwa, president and Group CEO of Cassava Technologies, announced NVIDIA investment, saying: “Cassava is Africa’s leading technology company, driving the continent’s digital transformation with digital infrastructure and digital services.

“Securing this investment is an important milestone that we expect to unlock additional value from and catalyse the further expansion of our digital infrastructure and services to bridge the digital divide on the continent”

Cassava’s roster of investors now includes Econet Group, British International Investment, Finnfund, Fund for Export Development in Africa, Gateway Capital, Google LLC, International Finance Corporation, NVIDIA, Public Investment Corporation and Royal Bafokeng Holdings.
