The Kenyan government says it is dedicated to working collaboratively with all stakeholders and partners to realise the full potential of digital transformation.

This comes after Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy cabinet secretary William Kabogo Gitau met with Israeli Ambassador Gideon Behar yesterday, who paid him a courtesy call at the Ministry Headquarters.

In a statement, the Ministry said: “Kenya and the State of Israel continue to enjoy a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect and shared development goals.”

The discussion between the two focused on cybersecurity research, technological exchange, digital skilling, and exploring opportunities for joint innovation and Business Process Outsourcing ventures.

"As we expand digital connectivity and pursue a knowledge-based economy, we are exploring ways of working with various partners to fast-track digital skilling for Kenyans to benefit from opportunities provided by these initiatives," said Gitau.

Also on Monday, Gitau met US deputy ambassador to Kenya, Susan Burns at the ministry headquarters.

The pair explored deepening bilateral relations between the two nations in areas of digital transformation, ICT infrastructure development, innovation and digital skills.

Burns expressed commitment to working with the East African country in its vision of building a knowledge-based and tech-driven economy.
