Chinese electronics manufacturer, Hisense, has officially entered Zambia as of today. The announcement was made at a gala event held in Zambia's capital city Lusaka.
The company used the opportunity to showcase its products, including a new range of smartphones and televisions, including ultra LED (ULED) models.
Pedro Teixeira's, deputy general manager at Hisense, noted the importance of the Zambian market during the launch.
"Zambia has been on our radar for a long time and we are proud to be able to officially launch our product range locally. I urge customers to compare the value for money offered by Hisense products against other brands, I'm sure they will be pleasantly surprised to see what Hisense has to offer,"
Zambia is now one of 15 African countries where Hisense has an established presence. The company's African factories are located in South Africa, Egypt and Algeria.
The company as also established an export division to cater to Southern African countries that include Madagascar, Ghana, the Seychelles and now Zambia.
Local company, Hazida Ltd has been selected as Zambia's Hisense distributor. Riaz Mulla of Hazida Limited believes that Hisense is set to make a big impact in Zambia.
"There is a particularly good opportunity for our TVs in the market as our pricing is very competitive," said Teixeira.
