Applications have opened for the Digify Pro Online Cohort 8.0, a digital skills programme for people aged 18 to 35.

This year’s cohort, themed “Get Digital and Thrive”, focuses on generative artificial intelligence (AI) skills and economic empowerment to prepare participants for the shifting nature of work.

The programme is designed to move participants from skills acquisition to income generation, says Qhakaza Mohare, COO of Digify Africa.

It focuses on enabling young people to build sustainable livelihoods by using emerging tools to solve problems and create content.

The curriculum is delivered in three progressive phases: foundations, intermediate, and advanced. The initial phase builds core digital and AI literacy, while the final phase covers specialisation, portfolio development, and pathways to earning opportunities.

Access to relevant digital and AI skills is no longer optional, says Mohare. The programme is built to ensure young people are equipped to participate and thrive in the digital economy rather than being left behind.

Digify Africa previously partnered with tech giants like Meta to deliver the Digify Pro programme, which has trained thousands of graduates across SA, Nigeria, and Kenya.

This latest iteration reflects the urgent need for accessible training that integrates AI into the core curriculum.

By integrating AI, Digify Pro Online is positioning participants to lead within the digital ecosystem, according to the organisation. Participants gain practical experience using tools that unlock new commercial opportunities.

An online Open Day session will be held on 13 May at 12:00 to provide aspiring participants with an understanding of how these skills translate into real opportunities.

The programme remains a key pillar in the organisation’s efforts to reduce youth unemployment through digital literacy and practical specialisation.

Applications will be opened until 30 June, participants can apply here.
