Airtel Nigeria has opened two premium experience centres in Lagos, taking its nationwide total to more than 350.
The launch comes as Nigerian telecom operators increasingly invest in customer experience and digital service channels.
The new centres, located at DAT Mall in Sangotedo and Marina, were commissioned by Sunil Taldar, group chief executive officer of Airtel Africa.
The expansion forms part of Airtel Nigeria’s plan to establish 500 premium experience centres nationwide, bringing customers closer to a wider range of telecommunications and digital services.
The centres offer mobile connectivity, Fibre, home broadband, outdoor units and enterprise solutions, while also providing subscriptions, enquiries, after-sales support and service resolution.
Airtel said the investment reflects its broader strategy to make connectivity and customer support more accessible, convenient and responsive across Nigeria.
The Marina centre is powered by solar energy, adding a sustainability element to the expansion.
Airtel currently operates more than 9,000 exclusive shops, 350 premium experience centres and 73,000 retailers nationwide, according to the company. The figures refer to the company's nationwide retail footprint.
The development comes against the backdrop of MTN Nigeria's investment in technology-enabled customer experience centres.
ITWeb Africa reported in 2024 that MTN Nigeria had opened a fully digitised 5G experience centre in Abuja, featuring a digital kiosk that allowed customers to access services independently, including SIM sales, airtime, data plans and devices.
The move reflects a broader shift in Nigeria's telecom sector towards combining physical customer support with digital and self-service channels.
