AccessKenya to expand fibre network in 2015

Dimension Data acquired company, AccessKenya has announced that it will be investing more in its fibre network in Nairobi city, Thika town and Mombasa.

The company has set aside over $3 million for the expansion which will start in 2015.

"All our fibre installations are future proofed with capabilities to traffic massive data rates of up to 2Gbps if necessary", Jonathan Somen, AccessKenya chief executive said.

"Our interest is in helping businesses grow by delivering affordable but critical end-to-end solutions for enterprises and even smaller companies."

The company said that fibre connections bring a single network that can deliver CCTV monitoring, VOIP and Video on Demand.

This announcement is coupled with the company's completion of its metro fibre network in Nairobi and its environs.
