Morocco’s mobile voice prices fall 28%

Falling mobile voice prices have been recorded in Morocco over the last year.

Average revenue per minute for mobile voice prices have fallen 28% from MAD 0.47 in June 2013 to MAD 0.34 in June 2014, according to Moroccan telecom regulator Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télécommunications (ANRT).

Lower prices in turn have spurred on higher outgoing call levels which increased 11% year-on-year to reach 89 minutes per month for the average subscriber.

Also, mobile outgoing traffic grew 20.13% to reach 11.7 billion minutes during the second quarter of 2014.

“SMS traffic also rose sharply in the range of 34.9% on a quarter and 99.3% a year to reach 4.8 billion units during this quarter,” says ANRT.
