Hisense, an electronics producer, is satisfied with its contribution to South Africa's economy.

According to the company, since its Western Cape factory opened in 2013, it has become Sub-Saharan Africa's largest television production facility.

"The Atlantis factory has managed to manufacture an impressive 4,5 million televisions and 2,9 million refrigerators, which reaffirms our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community empowerment," stated Luna Nortje, Hisense South Africa's deputy general manager.

The executive was speaking during a corporate social responsibility project hosted by the company in Atlantis, north of Cape Town.

This event was organized to pique the interest of students in technology.

“The partnership with various children’s homes is a perfect example of this commitment, providing support to young people and stimulating their minds,” said Nortje.

Hisense has also committed to conservation efforts in the country and is donating R40 000 worth of products to the South African National Parks, to save the penguins at Boulders Beach.
