Stanbic Botswana has gone live with a new core banking system, dubbed 'Tswelelopele', to gain maximum value from customer data.

According to the bank, the upgrade and client-centric strategy comes after months of preparation.

Stanbic Bank CEO Samuel Minta said the new core banking system comes with personalised data-led experience, enhanced safety and security features on digital platforms plus speed on the innovative solutions.

“We anticipate bringing our customers a more streamlined and more enjoyable banking experience,” said Minta.

Minta added that the system also features a mobile teller offering dubbed ‘Moby Banker’, which consolidates the bank’s back and front office functions to improve response times.

He said the new system is being launched in a phased approach across all branches countrywide.

Currently Stanbic’s on-the-go banking services are offered through a network of 68 ATMs countrywide, one mobile bank-in-a-box and over 2300 point of sale (POS) machines in various retailers and outlets.
