Intel launches online learning tool in Nigeria

Nigerian learners are expected to benefit from a newly-launched education solution that provides access to free and low-cost digital learning resources.

The Intel Explore and Learn Marketplace education solution has been designed for learners of all ages and provides interactive learning material such as books, examination papers, instruction videos and podcasts.

Launched in Lagos, it caters for students from elementary to more advanced learning stages.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Bunmi Ekundare, country manager, Intel West Africa, said that the solution was designed to benefit all stakeholders in the education community, including teachers and parents.

“For us at Intel, we are not just focused on emerging technologies but also on the best way to deploy these technologies to ensure that it is relevant to all stakeholders involved,” he said.

The technology giant has collaborated with Rancard, an African-based organisation that provides cloud-based software for mobile content discovery and delivery, for the initiative.

Ekundare further stated Intel’s commitment to seek partnerships and collaborations with government, educational institutions and content creators to solidify its steps in digital education and access.

Speaking about the collaboration with Intel, Ehizogie Binitie, co-founder and chief technology officer of Rancard, said, “We recognise education as a major challenge across the continent and believe the platform we have deployed together with Intel for the African market is an important step in solving this challenge, equipping both educators and content creators with the tools they need to create and distribute high quality educational content.”

Students and educators can gain access to the Intel Explore and Learn Marketplace solution on Intel powered Android or Windows devices.
