As Africa continues to deal with cybercrime, Zambia is stepping up efforts to train critical government personnel, including those from the Army, Correctional Service, Ministry of Technology and Science, and Ministry of Information and Media.
Today, the country's e-Government Division (SMART Zambia Institute) announced that some state employees successfully completed an intensive, high-level training program on cyber security, data privacy protection, and information security management - ISO 27001 provided by the Technical Centre for Climate Change and Agricultural Development.
The three-day workshop, held in the capital city of Lusaka, focused on cyber security and information security management, data privacy protection, advanced electronic records management systems, and ISO 27001:2022 compliance.
This comes as cybercriminals are increasing targeting African public and private sectors, with analysts calling for vigilance and asking businesses to employ proactive security measures to limit the dangers.
Smart Zambia said the recently completed training project demonstrates the country's commitment to improving national cyber security, data protection, and international compliance.
