Etisalat Misr in strategic alliance to deliver telecommunications, connectivity

Telecoms operator Etisalat Misr has partnered with real estate developer, Misr Italia Properties, for the provision of telecoms infrastructure at Cairo Business Park located in the New Cairo City.

Etisalat Misr said the alliance is in line with Egypt’s digital transformation policy for 2030.

In a statement, the companies confirmed the agreement will facilitate the delivery of “a portfolio of advanced internet and telecommunications services and smart solutions for Cairo Business Park, the first integrated administrative complex in New Cairo City”.

Hazem Metwally, CEO of Etisalat Misr, said the partnership is a reflection of the operator’s strategy to key into the digital transformation plans for Egypt by 2030, throughout the economy, and, particularly in this case, the real estate sector.

“By relying on our latest technologies and infrastructures considered to be the best on the Egyptian market, we have always been concerned with meeting the needs of our customers and exceeding their expectations, by transferring the successful international and intellectual experiences of the Etisalat group to the market,” said Metwally.

Etisalat Misr said it will deploy a datacentre and cloud computing to ensure to meet the terms of the agreement, including provision of high quality and high speed distinctive communication experience.

Mohamed Hany Al-Assal, President and CEO of Misr Italia Properties, said the partnership will facilitate the development of an integrated digital administrative complex.

“Thanks to this partnership, with investments amounting to 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds, we are working to develop an integrated digital administrative complex which includes 42 administrative buildings on an area of 18 acres,” said Al-Assal.

Etisalat Misr has continued to try to secure partnerships to diversify and expand its portfolio.

In June 2020, ITWeb Africa reported the operator penned key infrastructure agreements with Telecom Egypt to facilitate the interconnection of fixed and mobile telecommunications.
