In an effort to close the digital divide, Bayobab Zambia partnered with the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) to distribute computers to rural learners at Greenacres Primary and Secondary School in Kalomo.

The computers are intended to significantly enhance learning possibilities at Greenacres Primary and Secondary School by providing students with essential digital skills required in modern society.

Officiating the ceremony, the guest of honour, Daniel Chilekwa, representing the director Universal Access on behalf of ZICTA, stated in his remarks that this donation contributes to ZICTA's total number of schools assisted to 624.

He stressed ZICTA's fundamental principle of working together, pointing out how partnerships like the one with Bayobab Zambia are crucial in advancing digital inclusion throughout the country.

Also addressing at the ceremony, Patricia Monze, representing the Kalomo District education board secretary, expressed thanks on behalf of the Ministry of Education and commended Bayobab Zambia for its commitment to improve rural education.

She advised the pupils to take advantage of this chance and to care for the computers.

Lillian Mutwalo, managing director of Bayobab Zambia, underlined the company's view that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life, emphasising that this project is more than just providing computers; it is also about investing in Zambia's youth.

She went on to say: “This donation is part of Bayobab Zambia’s broader mission to create social value by providing digital tools that open new educational opportunities, particularly in underserved communities.”
