Liquid C2, owned by Liquid Intelligent Technologies, has become the continent's first Google Cloud Interconnect provider.

Liquid said its relationship with the global hyperscaler Google Cloud adds significant capacity to the cloud solutions that its subsidiary already provides to customers across Africa through its Cloud Connect portfolio.

The company announced the development yesterday, saying that as a Google Cloud Interconnect provider, Liquid C2 can provide its customers with direct access to Google Cloud services, allowing African businesses to benefit from Cloud solutions.

Liquid said enhanced speed and bandwidth of a direct connection considerably improves the performance of cloud-based applications

Oswald Jumira, CEO, Liquid C2, commented: “By partnering with Google Cloud, we can leverage the strengths of both organisations to offer solutions that address the needs of the African market. Direct access to the Google Cloud network will bring about the enhanced security and operating efficiencies that our customers in wholesale, enterprise, and government are seeking.”
