Orange Money partners Botswana streaming platform to extend reach
From Botswana, Orange Money has collaborated with local content streaming platform UPICtv to support the country’s arts industry by facilitating mobile money payment for subscriptions.
Launched last year by Botswana Fibre Network (BoFiNet), UPICtv is a streaming subscription service available at P50.00 per month, down from the original launch price of P75.00.
According to BoFiNet the platform is also aimed at creating an avenue for local broadcasters to reach local and international audiences.
In October last year, the network company announced intentions to broadcast 90 local titles and 134 international titles.
“This is yet another strategic collaboration for payment solutions, for we recognise the convenience it brings to our customers and partners,” said Orange Money CEO, Seabelo Pilane. “This further strengthens our resolve to be Botswana’s first choice in mobile money transactions. We continue to work towards improving our digital capabilities.”
Orange Botswana also recently launched its enhanced Orange Money App, an upgrade of the existing App.
The new Orange Money App provides customers with access to money transfer, electricity purchases, data bundle and airtime purchases, insurance premium payments, Dstv subscription, water bills payments and loan repayment.
