Zimbabwe connectivity service provider ZOL has been rebranded as Liquid Home Zimbabwe, which the companies say reflects the natural evolution of the home brand and its much-awaited alignment with the parent brand and business within the Cassava Technologies fold - Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

According to information released to the media, as part of this rebrand, Liquid Home Zimbabwe will ensure the seamless transfer of all customer accounts from ZOL to Liquid Home.

“Customers will enjoy the same benefits they did under the previous brand name, and on the same terms and conditions as their existing contracts, ensuring no disruptions to the services provided,” the companies stated.

Liquid Home has also added a further 60 LTE base stations across the country to bolster connectivity.

Since its acquisition in 2012 by Liquid, ZOL has increased its reach exponentially aided by the support and backbone infrastructure from the parent brand.

Wellington Makamure, Regional CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies Southern Africa, said:“The rebrand is to ensure the consolidation of Liquid’s consumer offering so we are identified as a single brand, under one name. The new brand identity will ensure streamlined service delivery and assure our customers of our continued commitment to offer uninterrupted internet services straight to their homes.”

The rebrand is just another stepping-stone to further its vision of digitally connecting all Africans on the continent.

Equiano capacity

In March LIT acquired a fibre pair on the Equiano subsea cable, allowing it to transport traffic up to 12 Terabits, bringing a much-needed increase in international connectivity in Western and Southern Africa.

The telco said with older sub-sea cables almost at the end of their lifespan, the Equiano cable system will address the growing need for internet capacity supporting cloud services in both coastal and landlocked countries on the continent.

Liquid released a statement which reads in part: “The new Equiano subsea cable will link Africa to Europe via the West Coast of Africa when it is ready for service later in 2022, providing Terabit/s of capacity to meet the growing and varied business needs of organisations across Europe, Western and Southern Africa.”
