Zambia wants all its government tech agencies to go paperless.

Zambia is encouraging entities under the Ministry of Technology and Science to go digital and remove paper systems.

The ministry intends to set an example in the government's efforts to go paperless and improve service delivery.

The Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati, has urged institutions in his portfolio to embrace technology solutions and creativity.

"We're a technology ministry."We cannot continue with manual and paper processes," he remarked in Lusaka on Tuesday.

Mutati addressed at the offices of the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA), where he met with Ministry of Technology and Science institutions to discuss the first quarter performance of the year.

“Our buildings and business models should be technologically driven. We need relevant skills from TEVETs to provide practical solutions to job and wealth creation,” the minister said. “These quarterly reviews are meant to ensure we are results oriented to create an enabling environment for economic transformation.”

In addition to TEVETA, the ministry also oversees the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority, Zambia Postal Services, National Science and Technology Council, National Technology Business Centre, and National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research.
