Botswana: First digital associates to embark on Letshego’s Digital Mastery Programme
Pan-African financial services company Letshego has announced the first group of 15 candidates or digital associates to participate in its Letsgo Digital Mastery Programme.
The company received over one thousand applications and after a rigorous screening process, 15 candidates were selected and are the first cohort of the Programme in Botswana.
The digital associates – ten external and five employees – will complete an 18-month incubation programme.
Letshego Chairman Enos Banda said, “The LetsGo Digital Mastery Programme is a unique way that Letshego is promoting and supporting digital transformation in the region through the development of digital entrepreneurs and future digital leaders.”
He added that the Programme is the culmination of a vision the company had five years ago.
“It is only those who innovate that will own tomorrow,” said Banda. He said that without the right people in place, “it’s just gadgets” and the primary objective was to roll out technology that transforms lives.
The digital associates will focus on solutions for agritech, telemedicine, digital and financial literacy, and mobile money.
The Programme includes practical learning sponsorship valued at over P500 000 per candidate to encourage the development of digital solutions.
Letshego intends to expand the Programme to markets in both East and West Africa.
