Axis Communications

a global security and network surveillance technology provider, has released the AXIS Camera Station Edge (ACS Edge) and AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage (ACS Cloud Storage) solutions aimed for African companies.

According to the business, this surveillance suite will transform network video management with edge cloud capabilities while also improving physical security and surveillance systems.

The company said ACS Edge offers a method of managing video data that involves processing images immediately on the camera.

This eliminates the need for external servers or cloud-based processing, resulting in lower infrastructure requirements, total cost of ownership and operational expenses, the company said.

“With ACS Edge, we are offering a true cam-to-cloud solution, while the rest of our new ACS offering extends our customers the opportunity of on-premise, cloud, and hybrid solutions,” said David Needham, Europe, Middle East and Africa business development programme manager.

Needham noted that with the release of ACS Edge and Cloud Storage, the company now offers a broad range of solutions for companies seeking cloud, on premise, or hybrid surveillance systems.

“This new generation (of solutions) will continue to empower customers with total control over their video surveillance systems,” he concluded.
