Commvault appoints new EMEA lead to push growth
Enterprise software and data management specialist Commvault has appointed Marco Fanizzi to vice president of EMEA.
According to a statement released by the company, the appointment is effective immediately and Fanizzi will drive the company's growth objectives the 70+ markets spanning Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Commvault says Fanizzi has more than 30 years in the enterprise data industry, covering multiple geographies and sectors.
The company adds that Fanizzi held multiple senior positions at Dell Technologies, most recently as Vice President and Managing Director Italy, and sales leadership roles with Veritas/Symantec consistently driving sales through channel and customer engagement.
"I am confident that Marco's extensive experience - especially in the financial and enterprise sectors across Europe - will rapidly accelerate the expansion our already growing EMEA business," said Riccardo Di Blasio, chief revenue officer, Commvault.
This appointment coincides with the appointment of Callum Eade as vice president of Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ).
"Eade joins the company with extensive sales and business development experience and will be responsible for driving growth across Commvault's diverse markets in APJ," the company adds.
The appointments follow a slew of recent additions that have strengthened Commvault's go-to-market team and reinvigorated its strategic vision for innovation and global growth.
Under the leadership of Di Blasio, the company appointed former EMC executive, David Boyle, as vice president of sales for the Americas. The company also appointed former VMWare executive, Mercer Rowe to drive its worldwide channel strategy.
Commvault has also simultaneously laid the foundation of its vision of the cloud-enabled future with the acquisition of software-defined storage specialist Hedvig and the launch of Metallic, a Commvault venture offering SaaS-based data management and protection.
"Not only is Commvault an independently recognised market leader from a technology perspective, but I see the company leadership establishing an entirely new market for truly seamless integration storage and data management processes. These are bold and pioneering steps for any vendor in the market and we need to ensure all of our EMEA users know about. My first priority is to spend time with our people, customers and partners to listen to what they need and expect from next generation data management solutions so we can continue to deliver on those," said Fanizzi.
