New MultiChoice Africa CEO appointed
Tim Jacobs has been appointed chief executive officer of MultiChoice Africa, the company has announced.
In a statement MultiChoice stated that Jacobs formerly held the position of pay-TV chief financial officer before he took over the reins from Nico Meyer on 1 April 2015.
Nico Meyer decided to leave the group on 31 March 2015 for personal reasons, notes the statement.
According to the Naspers website Jacobs first joined the MultiChoice group in 2013 as chief financial officer of MultiChoice South Africa, and was appointed director of finance for MultiChoice South Africa and the MultiChoice South Africa board in April 2014.
In June 2014 he assumed the role of pay-TV chief financial officer.
The MultiChoice group is a South African headquartered pay-TV service company, and provides digital satellite pay television to the African continent.
Currently the company operates its DStv satellite television services in 50 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
MultiChoice is the subsidiary of media group, Naspers.
