Ethio Telecom launched seven powerful enterprise solutions to drive digital transformation in agriculture, financial services, education and in enterprises.

The company released a statement in which it highlighted new cloud-powered features expected to streamline operations.

“By eliminating the need for costly on-premises infrastructure, we provide a more agile, secure, and scalable solution,” reads an excerpt from the statement.

One key feature is the digital livestock tracking solution to strengthen security and combat theft of livestock, especially in rural communities.

"Farmers and ranchers can now track their animals in real-time, monitor their health, and ensure greater economic security," said the company. By integrating IoT technology, the solution allows farmers to improve productivity and enhances financial access for traditionally underserved communities.

The tele Push-to-Talk/Video (PTT/V) feature will support the digital transformation of communications for enterprises in sectors like security, logistics, and emergency services.

According to the statement the feature enables enterprises to benefit from instant, reliable, and secure communication on any smartphone. It also helps to address issues like limitations with outdated traditional radio systems, offers multimedia messaging, geofencing, and real-time location tracking.

Ethio Telecoms CEO Frehiwot Tamiru said the company also unveiled a cloud-powered core banking solution to empower micro-finance institutions, as well as savings and credit cooperatives. The objective of this fintech solution is to streamline operations, enhance the customer experience, and improve accessibility.

The company also pointed out that the Education Management System (EMS)feature will enhance communication between all stakeholders, including teachers, students, and parents.

Tamiru said, “Our company’s three-year lead strategy has been implemented diligently; and this fiscal year is the final year of the strategy period.”
