Zambia has started a study to analyse its digital transformation plan, dubbed the State of Developer Ecosystem in the Southern African Nation's study 2025.

It was launched this past weekend as a cooperation between the Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) and Bongohive, Zambia's first innovation and technology hub.

Felix Mutati, Zambia's Minister of Technology and Science, presided over the launch.

“It is critical that we take stock of where we are and define clearly where we want to go. This survey is not merely a data collection exercise; it is a compass.” he explained.

“It will help us navigate the future of Zambia’s digital economy by illuminating the needs, challenges, and aspirations of our developer country,” the minister added.

The government expects the survey results to help focus on skill development, job opportunities, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Mutati praised Bongohive and ICTAZ for their survey.

He said: “It is a road map that will help us to get feedback that will be passed on to stakeholders in order to make informed decisions,” the minister said.
