Zoho, a global technology business, has teamed with She Code Africa in Nigeria to improve the skills of female tech professionals using Zoho Creator, a low-code app creation platform.
As part of this program, Zoho will offer 'Train the Trainer' workshops for 30 female She Code Africa Academy trainers. These sessions, which will take place at Zoho's Lagos office, will provide comprehensive training on how to build enterprise-grade applications with low-code technologies.
The three-day workshop will provide trainers with the necessary expertise to train more She Code Africa students in application development.
This upskilling initiative falls under Zoho's 'Young Creators Program,' which was introduced globally in 2022. The program's goal is to give advanced digital skills to future business leaders while also encouraging technology-backed innovation.
As part of the programme, participating trainers will receive one year of free access to the Zoho Creator platform, as well as complete training materials.
Kehinde O, country head of Zoho Nigeria, stressed the company's dedication to assisting local communities by upskilling, recruiting local talent, and empowering local businesses with technology. This method is consistent with Zoho's growth strategy, known as transnational localism.
Maryblessing Okolie, community manager at She Code Africa, expressed satisfaction for the collaboration, noting its potential to help trainers learn about the newest breakthroughs in low-code technology and share this knowledge with other students.
The training in Nigeria comes as Zoho expands its presence across the continent.
In a recent interview with ITWeb Africa, the company indicated that part of their expansion goal is to establish offices "across various countries in the region."
Furthermore, it said it is hiring locally for customer-facing positions and will continue to do so in the coming years.
"We recently reached the milestone of having over 100 million users, becoming the first bootstrapped SaaS business to do so. "Africa is one of our fastest growing regions," the business told ITWeb Africa.
Zoho's growth aspirations come as the company expects its Ulaa web browser to become dominant in the future.
