Huawei launches South African call centre

Chinese telecommunications equipment provider Huawei has launched its first South African call centre, which is geared to offer device customers with local support.

The facility is planned to handle queries regarding Huawei smartphones, home gateways, tablets and mobile broadband.

Support offered from the centre is planned to be in addition to that which network providers offer, says the company.

“The creation of this call centre is a result of Huawei’s growth in the South African market and is part of our entry strategy into the consumer space with our new smartphone offerings,” said Larking Huang, general manager, Huawei Device, South Africa.

“We have an on-going commitment to put great technology within reach for more people around the world. Having our own local call centre now enables users to receive direct feedback from Huawei on any queries they may have. This reduces the amount of time in which queries are processed, resulting in increased customer satisfaction,” said Huang.
