MTN South Sudan boosts connectivity efforts

MTN South Sudan is boosting up its digital connectivity efforts with the launch of its Open Market Smartphone Bundling service.

The offer includes months of free data; new smartphone customers will receive 1GB usable for one week per month for six months, for a total of 6GB, which is a big deal in one of Africa's impoverished countries.

To highlight the significance of the occasion, the secretary general of the Chamber of Commerce and other senior Sudanese authorities attended, applauding MTN for empowering South Sudanese individuals through improved digital access.

Martha Demach, MTN South Sudan's head of customer experience, emphasised the importance of the people in MTN's growth.

This was followed by Kamau Njoroge Henry, chief marketing officer, who announced the strategic marketing approach and its expected market impact.

Khamis Daniel Waiwai, products and services manager, then presented an overview of the Smartphone Bundling Service, including its features and benefits.

The initiative intends to make smartphones more accessible, bridge the digital divide, and increase participation in the digital economy.

Ali Monzer, CEO of MTN South Sudan, underlined the telco's commitment to fostering digital transformation in the country.

He emphasised the strategic importance of this service in promoting connectivity and digitally empowering communities.
