Sierra Leone names 32-year-old Bah technology minister

Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio has appointed 32-year-old Salima Mormorna Bah as the new Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation.

Bah, will now lead Sierra Leone’s digital journey developing initiatives that promote the use of technology to develop the country.

The 32-year-old minister holds an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Wales (Holborn College) and is practising as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone.

She is an active member of the Sierra Leone Bar Association. Bah also serves as an executive member of Lawyers - a non-profit organisation of female lawyers established to defend the rights of women and children.

Commenting on her appointment, Bah said: “I am excited by the challenge to drive the president’s digital transformation agenda and deliver solutions that would improve the lives of all Sierra Leoneans. It is time for all of us to come on board and contribute to our national development.”
