Vodacom Tanzania has signed an agreement with Eutelsat Communications that will bolster connectivity to underserved regions by utilising Eutelsat’s KONNECT high-throughput satellite.

These services will be delivered under Vodacom’s brand and installation of equipment at customer locations will be done by Konnect Africa.

In service since end of 2020, Eutelsat KONNECT is a new-generation High Throughput Satellite used to deliver significant resources for broadband services with quasi-complete coverage of Sub-Saharan Africa and address direct-to-user consumer and enterprise broadband services.

Sitholizwe Mdlalose, Managing Director of Vodacom Tanzania PLC said, “We are delighted to incorporate satellite to our suite of services, leveraging the state-of-the art EUTELSAT KONNECT satellite to fulfil our mission, which is to deliver connectivity to all regions within the country.”

“With this service, we will connect everyone, this includes areas which are not covered today, giving access to services up to 100Mbps.”
