Tech foundation supports school kids with smart desks
The Empire Partner Foundation, a non-profit South African technology organisation, handed over 50 Smart Desks to Mayibuye Primary School in Soweto yesterday together with the education solutions company Midesk Global.
The smart desks incorporate technology such as smartphone charging connections, solar-powered lighting, storage compartments, and wireless charging capabilities.
According to the parties, the smart desks will transform the learning experience for Mayibuye Primary School kids.
"This charitable contribution, undertaken to enrich educational prospects and broaden student access, stands as a momentous achievement in the Foundation's ongoing commitment to empowering marginalised communities through innovative solutions," the statement continued.
The Empire Partner Foundation was founded in 2016 with the goal of empowering youth to build South Africa and Africa through technology by addressing critical socioeconomic concerns that affect the public.
"Empire Partner Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to advance community development and foster educational excellence," stated Joanna Govender, CEO of the EPF Tech Fund. “In keeping with this commitment, our collaboration with Midesk Global enables us to give revolutionary tools to Mayibuye Primary School, enriching the educational process for both students and staff. These Smart Desks are consistent with our mission of making long-lasting and beneficial impacts on educational experiences."
