Huawei lands managed services deal with MTN

Chinese telecoms firm, Huawei Technologies, has been awarded a five year contract to manage the MTN Group's services in six countries.

Huawei's managed services solutions are planned to support the operator in enhancing operational efficiency and providing better network quality to MTN users.

The African countries where Huawei is planned to provide managed services include Ghana, Cameroon, Guinea and Benin, it has been reported.

Furthermore, Huawei is expected to cover a range of services such as managed network operations, network performance management and spare parts management.

MTN is Africa's largest mobile operator. The telco has operations in 22 countries on the continent, in Asia and the Middle East with over 200 million subscribers.
