Vodacom Tanzania looks to secure user buy-in with fresh PR campaign
The campaign is being rolled out to increase awareness among users of the operator’s network development and the availability of services as a result of its ongoing investment in infrastructure.
Rosalynn Mworia, Vodacom Tanzania Plc. Director of Corporate Affairs said: “At Vodacom, we have been continuously investing and improving our network … This dedication has resulted in the most robust, reliable and widest 4G network in the country.”
According to Vodacom Tanzania, it maintains over 3,000 3G and 2,000 4G sites, ensure coverage of 92% of the population.
Mworia added: “Vodacom Tanzania aims to transform the country into a knowledge-based society through the application of ICT while bridging the digital divide as well as strengthening the competitive edge of our domestic data and voice services. This focus has seen us add more services to the portfolio we offer to our users to the point that we now provide much more than just telecommunications services”
The operator underlined its ‘Just For You’ offer, which brings special individualised bundles to Vodacom users which will have bundle combinations configured according to the usage patterns of the individual customer.
MD resignation
Recently, the company made headlines after its managing director Hisham Hendi resigned from his position, effective 1 November 2021, after two-and-a-half years at the helm.
Chairman of the Board of Directors at Vodacom Tanzania Judge Thomas Mihayo said the Vodacom Tanzania Board of Directors is in the process of identifying Hendi’s successor and will make an announcement in due course, pending regulatory approval.
