Johannesburg, 30 Mar 2015
Dee Smith and Associates successfully concluded another Certified Information Technology Manager (CITM) course in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 25-27 March 2015. It's at this course where a citizen of Botswana became that country's first globally accredited Certified IT Manager (CITM).
Being an IT manager today is not an easy task. There are so many aspects and challenges that must be negotiated each day within the IT management environment. Most companies today rely heavily on IT for the delivery of business-critical services, often directly to the end-consumer or client. IT-Managers face constant pressure to deliver existing and new high-availability and mission-critical services at an ever-increasing, faster pace and rate of change. Good IT management has the ability to assess the value and level of risk associated with operations and large scale projects.
Good IT Managers finds ways of realising potential and minimising risk, and are able to see the business strategy through the eyes of the senior management team. This in turn helps identify ways in which technology can support their organisational vision. The CITM course was designed for individuals with a need to understand the modern requirements and core competences for managing IT in mission-critical environments. It delivers the fundamental knowledge, hands-on skills and managerial aspects required and will touch on all important aspects of the job.
And it's for the reasons and objectives mentioned above that Thuto Moji, an IT professional from Gaborone, attended the 3-day CITM training course and passed the certification exam. Through his effort he has further expanded his knowledge and understanding of the various aspects that are required to function as an IT Manager in today's fast-paced quality-focussed environment. By passing the exam he has proved that he has the capability to apply what he has learnt as per the requirements of EXIN, the global accreditation organisation.
"We are extremely proud and humbled that Mr. Moji entrusted our company to provide him with this training to help further his professional IT career and we congratulate him on being the first in Botswana to obtain this accreditation", says Lee Smith, course instructor and director at Dee Smith and Associates. "There is an increase in delegates from outside South Africa who are attending our range of globally accredited training courses and this demonstrates the benefit that individuals and organisations are deriving from this high level of specialised IT training and education".
Dee Smith and Associates congratulates Thuto Moji for this first achievement in Botswana and we wish him all the best for the future.
The next course on the schedule is Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) which will be held in Cape Town from 15-17 April 2015 and there are still a few seats available.
