MTN Group's leadership met with key stakeholders in Washington, D.C. last week to discuss shared interests, such as global geopolitical developments.

MTN Group Chairman Mcebisi Jonas and President and CEO Ralph Mupita met with senior officials from the United States Departments of Commerce, State, the World Bank, the IFC, and the IMF.

Africa's largest telecom carrier stated in a statement, "We also discussed working through partnerships to drive and advocate for accelerated digital and financial inclusion across Africa so that no one is left behind."

The MTN Group executives' trip comes just a few months after the Africa-America Institute in New York recognised the business with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.

Africa's largest telecom provider, with 272 million users, was recognised for transforming communications across the continent, closing the digital divide, catalysing economic growth, and improving living standards.
