Visa appoints new country manager for Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia

Visa has named John Njoroge as the country manager and senior business development leader for Kenya, South Sudan, and Somalia.

Njoroge joins Visa East Africa's team, which is led by Chad Pollock, vice president and general manager.

In his new post, the cards and payments expert is going to develop strategic direction for Visa's regional business objectives, as well as manage the deployment of new services and products targeted to accelerate digital payment acceptance across all three territories.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Njorege has over two decades of experience in banking and fintech, and has previously held numerous key roles before joining Visa, including acting regional managing consultant for East Africa at Network International, where he focused on financial leadership and accountability, chairman of the Kenya Credit & Debit Cards Association, and head of Card Centre and Alternate Banking Channels at I&M Bank, where he led card business growth.

Njorenge also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Egerton University.

Njoroge commented on his appointment, saying, “Joining the Visa East Africa leadership team under the exceptional stewardship of Chad Pollock is an honour. I look forward to contributing to our shared vision of driving financial inclusion and innovation across the region.”
