Dimension Data in Ghana is due to change ownership and trade under a new name, following a management buyout by Yvette Adounvo Atekpe, the company's CEO for the past 16 years.

The IT infrastructure and services company was originally owned entirely by Japan's NTT Group. The Dimension Data brand operates in the Middle East and Africa.

In a statement issued this week, the business stated that Dimension Data in Ghana has been bought by locally registered Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd, which will unveil a new brand identity in April.

The new company will become a "Preferred Partner" of NTT, allowing for the continuous delivery of service and support to all clients.

Dimension Data personnel in Ghana will now work for Dynamic Data Solutions Ltd.

The current Dimension Data's executive management team in Ghana is expected to stay with the new company, providing continuity of service delivery and oversee the transition to a new brand.

Atekpe has over 25 years of experience working in Ghana's ICT industry. Of the deal, she said: "This management buyout protects the firm's future and establishes a Ghanaian-owned and operated ICT company.

She added: “The continued development and promotion of the ICT sector in Ghana is critical for the economic and social growth of our country. Being able to contribute to, and participate in, this growth with such a highly talented management team is an honour.

Richard Hechle, managing director, Dimension Data East and West Africa, stated: "The acquisition of Dimension Data Ghana by one of Africa's most respected women in the ICT industry is consistent with NTT's commitments to supporting female-owned, locally operated, and managed businesses.

"After building a strong, reputable firm over the last 16 years, Dimension Data is pleased to have fully transferred ownership and responsibility for customer care to them.

“We look forward to continue our collaboration with the team and are thrilled to have them as a preferred partner."
