Nigerian legislator launches constituency mobile app
Sunday Marshall Katung, a Nigerian senator, has launched his community mobile app to track his activities and respond to complaints and suggestions from his constituency to improve service delivery.
The 'SMK Get Involved' mobile app was unveiled last week in Kaduna by Vayan Joseph, the Senator's media advisor, who stated that the app aims to bridge the gap between the legislator and community.
According to him, the app will highlight the lawmaker's activities and achievements in the legislature.
"This is a positive step towards transforming our region's politics and leadership. The app was created to serve as the Senator's digital headquarters, tracking his activities in the Senate and coordinating and sharing information," Joseph explained.
He added: "Our region has been subjected to the most heinous attacks and unending killings over the years; this app will assist our constituents in reporting emergencies as they occur, and drastic measures will be taken in collaboration with security agencies to address them.
“As a result, we urge anyone who wants to see increased democratic dividends to download the 'SMK Get Involved' mobile app from the Playstore."
