Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, will succeed Jerome Hénique as CEO of the OMEA region beginning July 1.

Orange, global telecoms giant, has announced two important leadership changes within its executive committee in order to accelerate growth and innovation in critical areas.

Jérôme Hénique, vice president and CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA), will become executive vice president and CEO of Orange France on June 1.

Similarly, Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, will succeed Hénique as CEO of the OMEA region beginning July 1.

The telecom operator, with revenues of 40.3 billion euros in 2024 and 125,800 workers worldwide, stated that the appointments came after the departure of Jean-François Fallacher, CEO of Orange France, who is leaving the group to become CEO of the Eutelsat Group.

Orange Group CEO Christel Heydemann expressed gratitude for Fallacher’s long-standing service, stating, “I would like to thank Jean-François Fallacher for his unwavering commitment throughout his career at Orange.

“More recently, I would like to underline the essential role he played in the creation of MasOrange and the implementation of the Lead the Future strategy in France.”

Heydemann also praised the incoming leaders when she hailed their experience and vision.

“I have complete confidence in Jérôme Hénique, who knows the group perfectly and has successfully developed the Africa-Middle East region, to lead and grow Orange France’s activities.

“I am also delighted with the appointment of Yasser Shaker as CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa. His extensive experience and deep knowledge of the region will be essential for continuing our growth momentum,” she said.

Hénique brings more than a decade of leadership in Orange’s international operations.

Since July 2022, he has headed OMEA, overseeing operations in 18 countries with more than 135 million customers.

Under his leadership, the region saw double-digit revenue and EBITDAL growth. He has previously held various roles at Orange, including in France, Spain, Senegal, and Jordan.

While Shaker has led Orange Egypt since 2018, he has guided the company through economic challenges to achieve record growth and profitability.

He is a seasoned telecoms engineer and former Orange MEA CTIO with more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry.
