Intel appoints new MENA manager

Computer processor maker Intel has announced that it has promoted Taha Khalifa to the role of regional general manager of Intel in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The corporation says that it plans for Khalifa to lead Intel’s business operations across the region, working closely with governments, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and industry-leaders to support the development of ICT capabilities in the region and drive Intel’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Based in Dubai, Khalifa is responsible for managing six Intel offices spread across Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

“The MENAregion is home to a young, vibrant and cosmopolitan population with high expectations of computing devices and constant connectivity, and we are committed to helping our nations equip their citizens with the right ICT skills in order to realise full potential in today's knowledge economy,” said Khalifa.

Khalifa first joined Intel in the US over 17 years ago, and held a variety of senior engineering, marketing, and management positions. Before assuming his current role, he was the regional director for the reseller channel organisation (RCO) in the MENA region.
