Nigeria’s Anambra State to launch data platform
The Anambra State Government in Nigeria has approved the development of a state-owned data management platform with an estimated budget of $58,000.
The decision was revealed at the 34th Anambra State Executive Council meeting.
Dr. Law Mefor, the state's information commissioner, stated, “The Solution Data Platform is part of Anambra State’s broader strategy to utilize technology for enhanced governance and development. It aims to streamline data management processes, improving the state's capacity to monitor critical areas such as security, infrastructure, and public service delivery.
“By enabling better data integration across sectors, the platform will ensure that vital information is accessible in real-time for decision-makers, supporting data-driven governance.”
He noted that the state has approved various other initiatives, including enhanced security measures, a master plan for heritage sites, and significant infrastructure upgrades in educational and healthcare facilities.
“These projects reflect Anambra’s commitment to leveraging technology and infrastructure investments to boost economic development and attract investment,” he noted.
The contract for developing the platform has been awarded to Octave Analytics and Insights Ltd, though the project’s completion timeline remains undisclosed.
